Calstown, Le 17 mars

Chère Annette,

Comment vas-tu ?

John

Dear Annette,

How are you? I hope that all is going well with you and your family. Luckily all is well with me. I apologise for not writing for a month. I had to study for my exams and I didn’t have the time to write to you.

Guess what? I have news! At the moment I’m in Bordeaux on a school exchange. I am staying with a French family. They are really nice. I get on really well with the parents and their son is quite shy but kind.

I am really enjoying myself here. The food is nice- I eat lots of croissants and bread every morning! However, I hate the school system- the classes start at 8am and the teachers are too strict.

I am going to spend a few days in Paris next week. I’m excited! I will go shopping and I hope to climb the Eiffel Tower. It will be great!

And you, do you have news? Do you want to come to Ireland during the summer holidays? You would be able to stay with me. We will be able to go to the cinema or play football together. It would be great!

That’s all now. Say hi to your parents from me.

Write to me soon,

John
